How Cacao Guided Our Journey in Hawai‘i : A Ritual for Guidance from Cacao
We just returned from a nourishing reset on Hawai‘i over the eclipse season.
As this Full Moon in Aries closes the eclipse portal — a chapter of redirection, release, and clarity — We’ve been reflecting on how our rituals with Cacao has guided us through in subtle and powerful ways.
Cacao is one of our greatest teachers — a plant that bridges heaven and earth, intuition and embodiment, spirit and form.
The Medicine of Cacao
Cacao is a perfect ally for connecting to spiritual guidance and intuition through grounded ritual and embodied practice.
When used in ceremony, cacao opens the heart and raises our frequency, amplifying our intentions and attuning us to feelings of love, bliss, and gratitude — the most magnetic energies we can embody.
In this resonance, clarity flows, synchronicities align, and life begins to move through us with ease and sweetness.
Our Prayer and the Magic that Unfolded
Before we even set out on our Hawaiian adventure, my beloved and I sat with cacao back in April in Guatemala. As I was preparing to leave and feeling uncertain about what was next, we asked cacao for guidance and to align us to our highest timeline. When I landed back in LA, my auntie and uncle on the Big Island reached out to ask if we wanted to house sit — house, car, and even flights taken care of. Big yes! We felt then that cacao had led us into this next chapter, gently guiding us toward experiences, connections, and moments that would unfold in perfect timing.
Fast forward to September in Hawaii— eclipse season and between a volcanic eruption portal (Kilauea erupted the day we landed and not again until the day we left!). Before each day’s adventure, we paused to set intentions and communed with cacao, asking to be guided towards all the things that were in alignment for our best selves.
Every day became a ceremony of connection, play, and trust — and with each synchronicity and invitation, we could feel cacao’s magic weaving through it all.

Cacao helped us trust our intuition, follow our bliss, and surrender to the flow of the present moment — even when plans shifted unexpectedly to our plans for after Hawaii. What felt like last-minute cancellations turned into unexpected magic, finding a dog sit on Kauai with a husky — our favorite island and our favorite dog! Kauai also holds a special place in our story, as it’s where we first met the artist who illustrated our Ceremonial Cacao — a beautiful full-circle moment that reminded us how deeply cacao weaves its magic through every chapter.
Even though the Hawaiian Islands hold their own magic, cacao reminded us that the real magic is everywhere — it’s in the way we listen, move, and live in devotion to our hearts.
When we returned to LA, we had a cacao ceremony on the beach for Wajxajib’ B’atz — a significant day in the Mayan Calendar starting a spiritual new year cycle — and once again, as if confirming her guidance, we were greeted by dolphins swimming near the bay!

Cacao continues to teach me that when we walk in devotion and gratitude, we become magnetic to the life meant for us.
